Message from Bureau Head
Science and information technology are the most important contribution to a country's economic, social and political development, and today they are witnesses to countries that have reached the pinnacle of civilization, developed and called the world's most powerful. As a result, the government has worked hard to ensure that the people of our country benefit from modern technology and that the transfer of technology can be accessed in a short period of time.
In our region, the Science and Information Technology Bureau, together with relevant offices, has established community information centers in various rural dialects and districts so that rural communities can access the information they need from various governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as other information sources, through various technological tools. A large number of wireless phones are also distributed in many rural dialects through the offices and relevant institutions, and the School-Net and wereda-Nets are also mentioned. Also, recently, communication and information technology infrastructure has been being developed step by step in regional centers, zones, special districts, districts and city administrations, mainly to facilitate government information systems, provide video conferencing services and provide fast information and provide community information and radio services.
Over the years, the ICT sectors has organized graduates from higher education institutions through associations and provide various supports, such as training, market sourcing and consultancy, to enter the business world. In addition, work is being carried out by developing the office's website and launching a Facebook page, as well as using various communication and information communication technology to create awareness among the public on the overall performance and condition of our institution. Therefore, it is expected that stakeholders will play their part to ensure that the sector thrives significantly in our region and ensures public access to technology in the shortest possible time, so that the Bureau's encouraging activities in terms of establishing, expanding and skill development from region to district/city communication and information technology infrastructure are continued.
In view of science and innovation, efforts will be made to achieve the goals set out in the sector by encouraging activities in each area to increase productivity and benefit by facilitating citizens' encounters. Therefore, I urge all governmental and non-governmental institutions, schools, urban and rural residents in our region to realize that using science and information technology is an unavoidable way to reach the planned destination in our country, and to work closely with the bureau to achieve the intended goal.
Mr. Selamu Amadu Wachengo
